Expansion of Freight Market... Kakao Mobility Begins Pre-Registration for 'Kakao T Trucker'
Kakao Mobility is recruiting pre-registrants ahead of the launch of its ‘Kakao T Trucker’ service, which helps cargo drivers improve the efficiency of their transportation tasks. Through ‘Kakao T Trucker,’ Kakao Mobility plans to recruit vehicle owners and introduce a new cargo information network platform based on Hwamul Madang within the year.
Last year, Kakao Mobility signed a business agreement with the ‘National Freight Truck Transportation Brokerage Association (Brokerage Association)’ and has been discussing ways to improve the existing brokerage industry infrastructure and create a sustainable digital logistics ecosystem. As part of these efforts, they have been upgrading the cargo information network ‘Hwamul Madang,’ operated by the Brokerage Association, and in July, they launched ‘LogiNote Plus’ to help brokerage companies improve work efficiency.
The cargo driver app ‘Kakao T Trucker,’ which begins pre-registration on the 22nd, features the application of various mobility technologies from Kakao Mobility to greatly enhance convenience for cargo vehicle owners. The entire process?from customized order search to delivery receipt submission, tax invoice issuance, and freight settlement?can be automatically handled within the app.
‘Fast Payment’ Creates a Win-Win for Both Brokers and Cargo Drivers
In cargo transportation, even after the shipper pays the freight to the broker, it typically takes an average of 30 to 60 days for the broker to settle the freight with the vehicle owner, and drivers had to check the settlement status for each transaction themselves, causing inconvenience.
Kakao Mobility’s upcoming ‘Fast Payment’ is a settlement method that drastically reduces the time required for settlement. When performing a ‘Fast Payment’ order, once the broker’s payment approval is completed, the freight is paid to the vehicle owner within an average of one hour.
Kakao Mobility has established a collaborative system with related financial institutions to enable the use of the ‘Fast Payment’ method across the industry, including small-scale brokers. This is expected to help not only the quick freight settlement for cargo drivers but also the stable operation of small brokers who previously had difficulty preparing driver payments in advance.
Enhancing Work Efficiency by Applying Mobility Technology
The Kakao T Trucker app does not just show a list of transportation orders but provides personalized ‘Order Cards’ tailored to each cargo driver. By setting filters according to tonnage, cargo type, preferred loading and unloading locations, drivers can receive order cards matching their conditions without having to frequently check the order list in the app.
In the future, Kakao Mobility plans to introduce a ‘multi-stop transportation’ feature that bundles two or more transport orders for route-based delivery. Previously, most of the work selecting orders for multi-stop linkage and calculating routes was done manually, relying heavily on the skills of individual dispatch personnel. Expanding multi-stop transportation is expected to minimize empty runs, increase drivers’ earnings per working hour, and improve the dispatch success rate for brokers and shippers.
