Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, Publishes Autobiography Commemorating 70th Anniversary of Power Outage
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 21st that it has compiled an autobiography titled Youth of Yesterday, Veterans of Today, which contains the stories of veterans who participated in the Korean War, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the armistice.
The autobiography was created based on materials and interview content collected through weekly meetings with veterans for one year starting from June last year.
It includes anecdotes from the Korean War, the current status of the veterans, and messages they wish to convey to future generations.
It tells untold stories about the horrific war scenes, the ongoing pain after the war, and life thereafter.
Gwangsan-gu plans to distribute a total of 200 copies to local veterans' organizations, elementary, middle, and high schools, universities, and public libraries, and also post it on the website's "e-book room."
