Restoration of Brisa and Sambari Showcasing Kia's 79-Year History... Exhibition Until May Next Year
Kia will exhibit the T-600 and the restored Brisa vehicle at its brand experience space ‘Kia360’ in Apgujeong, Seoul, from the 21st until May next year. This event is to look back on the company’s achievements over the 79 years since its establishment.

The T-600 is a three-wheeled vehicle that served as a stepping stone for Kia, which had previously only made bicycles, to grow into an automobile manufacturer. Produced in 1969 through a technical cooperation with Japan’s Toyo Kogyo (now Mazda), it was used for deliveries in narrow alleys and hillside neighborhoods. Because it has three wheels, it was also called a “sambari” (three-legged stand).
The Brisa, a passenger car launched in 1974, was initially built on an early Mazda platform. Kia focused on domestic production of parts and raised the localization rate to 90% within two years of its release in 1976. It is the model driven by the protagonist in the movie Taxi Driver.
Kia started as Kyungsung Precision Industry in 1944, changed its name to Kia Industries in 1952, then to Kia Motors in 1990, and finally adopted its current name in 2021. The two models, which had been kept in the research institute, underwent interior and exterior restoration work based on old photos and release catalogs.
In front of the restored Kia T-600 and Brisa models, images of Kia's representative models throughout history are displayed
At the exhibition entrance, a video connecting various car models released over the years is presented, and stories of customer families are shown through animated content. Visitors can view the exhibition without a reservation, and docent tours can be applied for on-site.
Kia stated that it plans to conduct marketing related to its past assets under the theme of “the aspiration to create better movement,” using keywords such as “bold,” “enriching,” and “progressive” movement.
