Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Donate $300,000 for Hawaii Wildfires
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia recently announced on the 18th that they will donate $300,000 (approximately 400 million KRW) to residents of Maui Island, Hawaii, who suffered from large-scale wildfires.
Hyundai Motor America will donate $150,000 to the American Red Cross and local charities. They will also operate a Disaster Assurance Program. Under this program, residents affected by the disaster on Maui Island will receive a $1,000 discount when purchasing new Hyundai vehicles from the 2023 and 2024 model years. Genesis new vehicles will receive a $2,000 discount. By using the company's installment program, customers can defer installment payments for up to 90 days.

Kia America will donate $150,000 to the American Red Cross and the Hawaii Community Foundation. Consumers affected by the wildfires who purchase new 2023 or 2024 model year vehicles will receive $1,000 in support. Jose Munoz, Hyundai Motor's Global Chief Operating Officer, stated, "We will provide immediate support to help Maui and its residents recover."
