Eunpyeong-gu Holds Gender Equality Week Commemorative Events… “A Happy City Where Everyone is Equal”
Events Held on September 1, 4-5… Cultural and Experiential Activities, Performances, and Women’s Policy Forum Scheduled

Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it will hold the ‘Gender Equality Week Commemorative Events’ on September 1 and 4-5 to promote a culture of equality.
Gender Equality Week (September 1-7) is a legally designated week to realize a society free from gender-based discrimination in all areas including politics, economy, society, and culture.
In celebration of Gender Equality Week, the district has prepared various events that everyone can enjoy.
The cultural and experiential events will be held on September 1 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Eunpyeong Peace Park in front of Exit 4 of Yeokchon Station.
Experience booths operated by nine organizations will include ▲ gender equality experiential education for children ▲ gender equality puzzles and making gender equality sandwiches ▲ human rights counseling and face painting. The National Women’s History Exhibition Hall will also present a traveling exhibition (small and mobile) titled ‘Yeogwontongmun,’ introducing the value of Yeogwontongmun, Korea’s first women’s rights declaration.
The Gender Equality Week Commemoration Ceremony will take place on September 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Eunpyeong Hall in Eunpyeong-gu Office. The ceremony will include awards for contributors to gender equality, congratulatory performances by popera singer La Luce and sand art. Following this, a special lecture will be given by psychiatrist Yang Jae-woong, who has appeared on various broadcasts such as Heart Signal and Rose War, on the theme ‘Are You Happy Now?’ The ceremony can be attended by scanning the QR code attached to the poster with a mobile device, and on-site registration will be accepted if seats remain.
The ‘Women’s Policy Forum’ will be held on September 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Multipurpose Hall in the Shared Building of Seoul Innovation Park. The forum will feature presentations and discussions under the theme ‘Care Across the Life Cycle.’
