The International Air Transport Association (IATA) also expects the number of global air passengers in 2024 to reach about 4 billion, a 3% increase compared to 2019, indicating a full recovery to pre-COVID-19 levels.
Since the end of COVID-19, the tourism industry has been booming, with a rapid increase in travelers often described as "revenge travel." However, a red light has been lit regarding workforce supply and demand. Due to a prolonged recession, many existing workers have left the industry, and the number of new entrants has decreased due to perceptions of unstable employment.
In response, the organization will open a 'Tourism Industry Specialized Recruitment Center' within the JobKorea recruitment portal to provide various tourism industry job information more conveniently. It will combine job postings registered on the organization's recruitment portal 'Gwangwangin' with JobKorea's tourism sector job listings, allowing users to view them all in one place. Various services such as tourism job consulting and customized matching information will also be linked.
Additionally, the 'Tourism Industry Job Fair' to be held in September will be promoted through various channels owned by JobKorea.
