Animal Welfare Certified Eggs and Five Senses Play Salad, etc.
Lotte Mart is launching a variety of eco-friendly fresh food products in response to the green consumption trend.
On the 17th, Lotte Mart announced that it will release the 'Reals Animal Welfare Certified Eggs,' which are 100% biodegradable using 'Earth Pack,' a paper made from sugarcane, marking the first time a large supermarket has used this material.

Earth Pack is an eco-friendly paper upcycled from sugarcane byproducts generated during the sugar production process, making it an environmentally friendly packaging material that does not require the consumption of trees. Additionally, the Reals Animal Welfare Certified Eggs come from chickens raised in a free-range environment rather than in cramped breeding facilities, making them animal-friendly eggs.
To develop this product, Lotte Mart's MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) MDs visited eco-friendly material factories for two months from the planning stage. After testing various eco-friendly alternatives, from base paper excluding coating elements to bamboo, they ultimately selected Earth Pack, which decomposes quickly by microorganisms. They also participated directly in the package design to present an eco-friendly product.
Furthermore, Lotte Mart is introducing two new products under the concept of 'Eco-friendly Five Senses Play Salad,' where both adults and children can eat eco-friendly vegetables and enjoy play. The Eco-friendly Five Senses Play Salad consists of seven types of vegetables, including iceberg lettuce, cabbage, frill ice, and red chard. The product packaging includes a QR code that provides patterns and play guides to create animals and landscapes using the seven vegetables. Made with eco-friendly ingredients grown through pesticide-free farming methods, the product allows children to experience the five senses by touching and tasting eco-friendly vegetables directly.
