Naver Software Education Platform 'Entry' 10th Anniversary... Surpasses 4 Million Subscribers
Naver Connect Foundation's software creation education platform Entry has celebrated its 10th anniversary. Entry supports software education to help children's imaginations become reality and has grown into the largest software creation community in Korea.
Surpasses 4 million cumulative users... Over 30 million creations generated
Entry is a platform where users can create works such as games, animations, and media art through block coding while learning programming principles. Thanks to its simple learning method, it was adopted as a regular subject in elementary and middle schools in early 2018. Currently, over 4 million cumulative users have accessed software education through Entry, and more than 1 million users use Entry every month.
In 2020, to take a step forward as a software creation community, Entry enhanced its community features. Entry changed its slogan to "We can be anything" and supported campaigns and challenges that encourage diverse creative activities by users. Through this, the number of creations gradually increased, surpassing 30 million in 2023, with about 500,000 new works created every month.
Various events highlighting 10 years of growth
To commemorate its 10th anniversary, Entry planned various events highlighting its journey over the past decade. In September, the developer conference ‘EDC2023 (Entry Developer Conference 2023)’ will be held at Naver 1784, where Entry users participate. At ‘EDC2023,’ participants will include elementary school students aspiring to become robotics engineers and users who have grown with Entry over 10 years and are now university students, sharing their experiences using Entry. On the same day, an exhibition of software-based media art works created in collaboration between seven elementary and middle school users and media artists will also be held.
Additionally, a donation program supporting software education for underprivileged groups has been prepared. This includes the ‘Creation Donation Challenge,’ conducted in cooperation with Happy Bean, where donations are made to software education institutions in underserved areas based on the number of works created by Entry users, and the ‘Happy Bean Donation Funding,’ where all proceeds from products made by a social enterprise supporting independent youth using Entry character IP will be donated.
