Busan City will hold the ‘2023 Busan Craft Beer Masters Challenge’ for three days from the 18th to the 20th at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu.
The ‘Busan Craft Beer Masters Challenge’ consists of the Busan craft beer evaluation event, which selects the company that made the best beer of the year among Busan’s representative craft beers, along with various related programs.
Since 2018, the city has been hosting this event as part of a support project for promising small businesses to strengthen the capabilities of Busan craft beer companies and expand sales channels for small business owners in related industries.
Last year, the event was held at the Jagalchi Market pier against the backdrop of the night sea, and this year it will be held at the Busan Cinema Center, representing ‘Busan, a UNESCO Creative City of Film.’
This year’s craft beer evaluation will be conducted through expert judging by six professionals on the 19th and general audience judging over the three days from the 18th to the 20th.
The professionalism and popularity of each participating company’s craft beer will be evaluated to select one company that made the best beer of the year.
The winner will be awarded a ‘Winner Certificate,’ and the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on the special stage at the Busan Cinema Center on the 20th.
In addition to the craft beer evaluation, the main events will include the opening ceremony, opening performance, and showcase, along with various side events.
Especially this year, as the event is co-hosted by the Busan Economic Promotion Agency and the Busan Cinema Center, visitors will be offered enjoyment through diverse experiences and food.
Side events include a pop-up store promoting and selling products from small business owners participating in Busan City support projects, a flea market for promising pet-related businesses, promotional booths for Zero Pay, Dongbaek Tong, and the Small Business Comprehensive Support Center, as well as experience booths such as ring and pizza making.
Additionally, a special exhibition of seafood specialty products and a Busan seafood safety promotion booth will be operated to alleviate citizens’ concerns about local seafood ahead of the Fukushima nuclear power plant treated water discharge and to promote sales.
Moreover, cultural performances and films that all citizens can enjoy will be screened at the Busan Cinema Center, allowing visitors to experience Busan craft beer and the atmosphere of a midsummer night together.
