Three European Jamboree Participants Detained on Theft Charges for Stealing Clothes and Socks from Shopping Mall
Participants of the World Scout Jamboree who stole clothes from a shopping mall were caught by the police.
On the 15th, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced that three European nationals were booked on theft charges.
They are accused of stealing pants, socks, and other items from a store in a shopping center located in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 2 p.m. the previous day. Pretending to try on clothes, they entered the fitting room and then took the clothes outside the store without paying. A store employee who noticed the theft reported it to 112, and the police searched the shopping center and apprehended them.
The participants stated that they discarded the stolen items in the restroom. The police recovered the stolen goods from the restroom. The participants are scheduled to return to their home countries on the 23rd.

A police official stated, "This theft case will proceed according to the same procedures as general juvenile delinquency cases."
