View original imageSongpa-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced on the 15th that it will support the nation’s first-ever “In-depth Medical Consultation with Infertility Specialists” starting this month. Songpa-gu is the district with the highest number of newlyweds in Seoul.
The program targets infertile couples or residents of Songpa-gu who wish to conceive. For those who make a reservation, the Songpa Maternal Health Promotion Center will conduct “In-depth Medical Consultations with Infertility Specialists” at least three times a week. The consultation fee is completely free.
At the infertility consultation room, a gynecologist with 30 years of experience and a specialist in infertility treatments provides direct consultations. Applications for consultation can be made by phone to the Songpa Maternal Health Promotion Center.
Along with the consultation, step-by-step customized health education and counseling with a health manager, blood tests, semen analysis, and ovarian function tests are provided free of charge to preemptively intervene in high-risk factors that hinder pregnancy and help prepare for a healthy pregnancy. Based on the test and consultation results, patients are referred to specialized infertility medical institutions or receive continuous monitoring.
In addition, the district is also committed to maternal and newborn health care after childbirth through the Songpa Maternal Health Promotion Center. Nurses who have completed infant health care training visit homes to provide specialized health care services for mothers and newborns, including checking vaccination status according to the baby’s growth and development and screening for maternal depression.
