Two Members of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Who Assaulted Police Officers Face Arrest Warrants Request
Obstruction of Official Duties Charge
The police have requested arrest warrants for two members of the Construction Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) who assaulted police officers during a rally.
On the 14th, the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul announced that it had applied for arrest warrants for Construction Union members Jeong Mo and Moon Mo on charges of obstructing official duties.
They are accused of assaulting police officers while performing a demonstration on the afternoon of the 12th in front of the King Sejong statue at Gwanghwamun Square, protesting against Japan's discharge of radioactive contaminated water into the ocean.

The police also arrested Kim Eun-hyung, the vice chairman of the KCTU, and another individual on charges of violating the Assembly and Demonstration Act. After being questioned at Hyehwa Police Station, Kim and the other person were released around 10 p.m. on the 13th.
