Starbucks Korea Reports Over 20% Decline in 2Q Operating Profit
Starbucks Korea's operating profit for the second quarter of this year decreased by the 20% range.
According to Emart on the 14th, SCK Company, which operates Starbucks Korea, recorded sales of 707 billion KRW and an operating profit of 36.4 billion KRW in the second quarter. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 6.2%, while operating profit decreased by 23.4%.
The increase in sales is attributed to the expansion of the number of stores. According to Starbucks Korea, the total number of stores nationwide increased by 28 compared to the same period last year, currently totaling 1,841 stores. However, operating profit declined due to cost burdens such as rising exchange rates.
