A tropical night is defined as a phenomenon where the minimum temperature remains above 25 degrees Celsius from 6:01 PM on the day to 9:00 AM the following day. After Typhoon Khanun dissipated, the North Pacific High settled near the Korean Peninsula, bringing in hot and humid air.
Daytime high temperatures on this day will range from 27 to 34 degrees Celsius, hotter than the previous day. The daytime highs in major areas are Seoul 33°C, Incheon 31°C, Suwon 33°C, Chuncheon 32°C, Gangneung 28°C, Cheongju 34°C, Daejeon 33°C, Jeonju 33°C, Gwangju 33°C, Daegu 32°C, Busan 32°C, and Jeju 32°C. As of the morning, heatwave advisories are in effect for most parts of the country, including Seoul and Incheon (excluding Ganghwa and Ongjin), and Gyeonggi Province (excluding Gimpo, Yeoncheon, Goyang, and Paju).
There is also a possibility of showers mainly inland. Localized shower clouds have developed in Jeju, inland areas of North Gyeongsang Province, and northern Gyeonggi Province. From the afternoon, showers of 5 to 30 mm are expected in Seoul, inland Gyeonggi, western Gangwon, inland Chungnam, northern Chungbuk, inland Jeonbuk, Jeonnam region, northwestern and northeastern inland Gyeongbuk, western inland Gyeongnam, and Jeju Island. Even if showers occur, the weather will return to humid and hot conditions afterward, so the heatwave is unlikely to be alleviated.
