Since it was an empty house with no residents, there were no casualties. However, as a precaution, four residents from two nearby houses evacuated.
Jongno-gu deployed construction experts to inspect whether there was any risk of further collapse, and the inspection found no issues.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Typhoon Khanun made landfall on the southern coast earlier that morning and was moving north-northwest at 20 km/h about 10 km north-northeast of Chungju, Chungbuk. As of 9 PM, it was passing about 50 km east of Seoul on land.
The central pressure is 985 hPa (hectopascal), and the maximum wind speed is 22 m/s (79 km/h). Seoul is expected to be closest to Khanun between 9 PM and midnight.
