CJ OnStyle Launches Recruitment for 2nd Batch of SME H&B Discovery Program 'ON Cubating'
CJ OnStyle announced on the 9th that it is recruiting the 2nd cohort of ‘Oncubating (Onstyle+Incubating)’ until the 27th, a program that supports the discovery and growth of promising H&B brands. This initiative aims to pioneer domestic emerging H&B (Health & Beauty) brands and secure new growth engines.
Companies selected for Oncubating will receive comprehensive support for brand growth, including expanding sales channels through CJ OnStyle’s TV and mobile platforms, integrated brand marketing, customized promotions, and product quality improvements.
Additionally, as CJ OnStyle has been selected as an operator of the ‘TIPS’ investment program led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, Oncubating participants will have opportunities to attract TIPS-linked investments. TIPS startup companies can receive up to 100 million KRW in minority equity investment from CJ OnStyle and up to 700 million KRW in government support funds.
Moreover, top partners from various fields will participate to provide professional support for brand growth. Selected Oncubating brands can collaborate with seven official Oncubating partners such as ‘Storelink (marketing platform)’, ‘Boosters (brand aggregator)’, and ‘Unidcoms (commerce solution)’, receiving discount benefits worth approximately 70 million KRW in marketing, IT, and HR sectors. In the long term, investment opportunities will also be provided through matching with investment institutions like ‘IMM Investment’, ‘Company K Partners’, ‘A Ventures’, and ‘Gravity PE’.
The first cohort of Oncubating, launched in April this year, selected a total of four brands. These include ‘Nutserin (Studio Episode Co., Ltd.)’, a 100% natural oil plant-based petroleum jelly brand; ‘Plant (Roga Co., Ltd.)’, a plant-based collagen inner beauty brand; ‘Equilibr (Platinum Bridge Co., Ltd.)’, a lifestyle beauty brand; and ‘GM Pharm (GM Pharm Co., Ltd.)’, a health functional food brand developed by professional pharmacists.
Notably, ‘Roga’, the operator of ‘Plant’, proved the excellence of its ingredients by winning the Grand Prize for Innovation in the raw materials category at ‘SIAL PARIS’, the world’s largest food exhibition, marking the first time for a Korean company. CJ OnStyle recently highly evaluated Roga’s differentiated raw material technology and ESG value realization potential, making a 100 million KRW equity investment. Through a TIPS recommendation from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, CJ OnStyle will support the acquisition of government grants for next-generation raw material research and development and provide consulting for this purpose.
Companies wishing to participate in Oncubating, which offers brand scale-up opportunities, can submit related documents such as company and brand introduction materials. Subsequently, final 2nd cohort brands will be selected through document and face-to-face evaluations considering product competitiveness, brand growth potential, and channel suitability.
