September 4th "Let's Walk Together on the Path of Hometown Love"
Ministry of the Interior and Safety Hosts Commemorative Walking Event
A place will be provided where families can walk together along a trail filled with memories of their old hometowns and reflect on the value of love for their hometown.
On the 7th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced the opening of registration for the "Hometown Love Day Commemorative Walking Festival," celebrating "Hometown Love Day," a national holiday designated for the first time this year.
This "Hometown Love Day Commemorative Walking Festival" is sponsored by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and NongHyup, and will be held on September 2, the opening day of the "Hometown Love Donation System Expo," along the Peace Nuri Trail area at KINTEX in Ilsan (approximately a 5 km course). Participants who complete the walk will also receive souvenirs prepared by local governments and NongHyup at the Hometown Love Donation System Expo near the walking festival venue.
Meanwhile, "Hometown Love Day" was set as September 4, the date that received the highest public response during a nationwide contest held from February to March, and was designated as a national holiday following the revision of the "Hometown Love Donation Act Enforcement Decree" in June this year. Accordingly, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety will hold the "1st Hometown Love Day Commemorative Ceremony and Expo" at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, from September 2 to September 4.
