Z Flip5 Folding and Unfolding Test... How Many Hours Will It Last This Time?
IT YouTuber Conducts Durability Test by Opening and Closing Flip Device
Over 12 Hours Ongoing... Flip5 Surpasses 150,000 Cycles
A foreign YouTuber has gained attention by testing the durability of Samsung Electronics' new foldable phone, the 'Galaxy Z Flip5' (hereafter Flip5). The test involves repeatedly opening and closing the Flip5 while counting the number of times in a live broadcast.
Polish IT specialist YouTube creator 'Mrkeybrd' started a live broadcast titled 'Samsung Z Flip 5 vs Motorola Razr 40Plus(Ultra)-The Great Folding Test' on the 3rd (local time).
The test is conducted by two participants who repeatedly open and close Samsung's Z Flip5 and Motorola's foldable phone, the 'Razr 40 Ultra,' comparing their durability. After a certain number of folds, the phones' functions such as touch responsiveness are checked. Since the broadcast is long, the experimenters are rotated frequently.
Mrkeybrd explained in a post on the video, "The participants are repeatedly folding and unfolding their flip phones until they break." He added, "This broadcast is not sponsored or influenced by Samsung or Motorola, and all devices were specially purchased for this experiment."

Earlier, around 43,000 folds, abnormal symptoms appeared on the Motorola model. It was found to creak when folding or fail to close completely. Eventually, Motorola was judged broken after about 126,000 folds and dropped out.
As of 6:50 PM on the 5th (Korean time), the broadcast has been ongoing for 12 hours, and the Flip5 has recorded over 150,000 folds.
In an additional video, Mrkeybrd said, "We will not stop here," and added, "If you want to see a few days of strange ASMR folding tests, please check the live stream."
Mrkeybrd, who has about 130,000 subscribers, also tested the Galaxy Z Flip3 in the same way last June. At that time, even after more than 400,000 folds over 142 hours, the phone functioned normally.

Moreover, the Flip3 endured tests such as being sprinkled with dust or sand and being dropped from a certain height, demonstrating durability far superior to Samsung Electronics' official announcement.
