The Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency's dedicated investigation team for the stabbing incident applied for an arrest warrant for Choi on charges of attempted murder and attempted premeditated murder the previous day.

Investigations revealed that the day before the incident, Choi had decided to commit the crime and purchased two weapons at a large supermarket before going to the scene at Seohyeon Station.
The police plan to continue investigating the circumstances of the crime with Choi once his custody is secured, and will also consider whether to disclose his personal information.
