The two companies agreed to concretize ways to utilize the metaverse, focusing on cooperation models such as building a metaverse learning center specialized in education and supporting remote work for Kyowon Group and its partners.
Based on its accumulated know-how in the education business, Kyowon plans to establish an education-dedicated metaverse learning center within Soma and provide remote workspaces for partners and startups. Zigbang will provide the necessary layout development, onboarding training, and guidelines.
Prior to this agreement, Kyowon conducted a Soma test work program for its employees. The results in most evaluation areas, including real-time communication, employee management, work immersion, and operation of education and briefing sessions, were similar to those of offline work.
A Kyowon official stated, "The satisfaction level of staff regarding real-time communication and that of managers regarding employee management were at the same level as during offline work," adding, "Compared to working from home, these satisfaction levels were 1.6 to 2 times higher."
Since July 2021, Zigbang has eliminated its headquarters building and adopted a 100% remote work system for all employees, using the Zigbang office located in Soma as its headquarters. Soma’s feature is that it leverages the characteristics of offline office space, allowing employees to gather in one space and have face-to-face conversations.
It is reported that currently more than 20 companies that have chosen either work-from-home or hybrid work systems are using the Soma virtual office. Over the past two years, the daily average number of users (DAU) has exceeded 1,500, and the average stay time reaches 6.35 hours.
