Mother and child visiting a patient die in a traffic accident in Jinju
A 1-ton truck driving on the national road near Omi-ri, Myeongseok-myeon, Jinju-si, Gyeongnam, rear-ended an 8-ton truck parked on the side of the road.

At around 12:30 PM on the 1st, two trucks collided on National Route 3 in Omi-ri, Myeongseok-myeon, Jinju-si, Gyeongnam, resulting in two deaths.
According to the Jinju Police Station, a 1-ton truck traveling towards Sancheong on the road rear-ended an 8-ton truck that was stopped between the third lane and the shoulder of the road.
Due to the impact of the accident, the driver of the 1-ton truck, a man in his 60s identified as Mr. A, and his mother, Ms. B, in her 80s, suffered severe head and other injuries. They were transported to the hospital but ultimately passed away.
It is known that Mr. A was returning after visiting his father, who was hospitalized in a hospital in Jinju, together with his mother Ms. B.
The driver of the 8-ton truck stated to the police that after unloading cargo brought from Seoul at a loading site in Jinju, he felt drowsy while driving and stopped the vehicle briefly to rest.
