Chungnam Province Provides Up to 500,000 KRW Annually for Education Expenses of Low-Income Children
Chungnam Province will provide up to 500,000 KRW annually per household for education expenses to low-income families in the region.
Chungnam Province announced on the 1st that it is accepting applications for participation in the "Child Education Expense Support Project" until the end of this month.
Eligible applicants are elementary, middle, and high school students from households registered in Chungnam with an income exceeding 50% but not exceeding 70% of the median income. The median income is based on the total amount of health insurance premiums paid by household members.
If selected as a final beneficiary, recipients can receive a prepaid voucher card from the local administrative office under their jurisdiction, which can be used to pay for private academy tuition or at offline NongHyup Bank affiliated bookstores registered in the province.
The support amount is differentiated by school level: 300,000 KRW annually for elementary students, 400,000 KRW for middle school students, and 500,000 KRW for high school students.
Through this project, Chungnam Province plans to provide various educational opportunities to students from low-income families who have difficulty attending private academies due to financial constraints, thereby realizing equitable educational welfare.
