The 27th Korea-Japan Youth Summer Sports Exchange Held
Korean Team to Participate with 218 Athletes in 5 Events... Until Next Month 4
Youth from Korea and Japan unite through sports. The "27th Korea-Japan Youth Summer Sports Exchange," which has annually involved 218 youths from five sports disciplines in both countries, will be held this year as a fully in-person exchange.

According to the Jeonbuk Provincial Sports Council (Chairman Jeong Gang-seon) on the 31st, the Korean delegation departed for Japan on the 30th to participate in the Korea-Japan Youth Sports Exchange.
This exchange will take place across Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, until the 4th of next month. Jo Jang-hee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Sports Council and Chairman of the Iksan City Sports Council, leads the student athletes as the team leader.
The competitions include five sports: ▲Soccer ▲Basketball ▲Volleyball ▲Table Tennis ▲Badminton. As these are friendly matches to foster goodwill through sports, no separate rankings or scoring will be assigned.
During their stay in Japan, the Korean athletes will spend time experiencing Japanese culture as well as engaging in sports exchanges.
Team leader Jo Jang-hee stated, “This will be a great opportunity for youths from both countries to build friendships through sports, and we will continue to promote ongoing sports exchanges.”

Meanwhile, the exchange program is hosted by the Korea Sports Council with the purpose of nurturing young sports talents from both countries. This year, it is organized by the Jeonbuk Provincial Sports Council.
