Gwangju Dong-gu Accelerates Creation of 'Dementia Safe Village'
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, has been selected for the 'Dementia Safe Village Excellent Leading Project' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for the second consecutive year.
This project aims to strengthen the linkage system within the local community centered on the Dementia Safety Center and to discover and provide various services to improve awareness of dementia.
The district was selected for the public contest under the theme "Sharing Hope for Dementia愛 within Dong-gu" and secured a budget of 40 million KRW.
Going forward, they plan to promote the Dementia Awareness Improvement Zone and the Dementia愛 Memory Program, among others.
Im Taek, the mayor of Dong-gu, said on the 31st, "The selection for this public contest project has given momentum to implementing a pioneering Dong-gu-type dementia safe village."
