Miryang-si Conducts Safety and Health Training for Industrial Accident Prevention
Major Accident Reduction and Summer Heatwave Disaster Prevention Training
On the 27th, Miryang City in Gyeongnam held an 'Industrial Accident Prevention Safety and Health Education' session at the city hall auditorium to provide guidance on the roadmap for reducing major accidents, prevent industrial accidents related to summer heatwaves, and prevent accidents in confined spaces.
This training was conducted for about 80 participants, including construction supervisors and site representatives of Miryang City-commissioned projects, representatives of confined space work companies, and safety officers from funded institutions. It was organized by the Yangsan branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, which oversees industrial accident prevention and supervision, and the Gyeongnam Eastern branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, which carries out various support projects for industrial accident prevention at workplaces.

The education began with policy directions for reducing major accidents, followed by topics on types of accidents caused by heatwaves such as heatstroke during summer, safety measures, and recent frequent cases of confined space accidents along with prevention strategies.

A city official stated, “This training was a valuable opportunity to prevent safety accidents among workers involved in commissioned construction projects, subcontracting, service, and consignment businesses. We will do our best to ensure that no major accidents occur through continuous efforts to prevent heat-related illnesses and confined space accidents during the summer.”
