"Today feels like a good day. I am very happy to have so many people helping me like this."
On the 27th, orders and reviews supporting an elderly couple who responded with apology comments to every 1-star harsh review are pouring in.
Earlier, on the 23rd, a story was revealed about an elderly couple who have been running a snack bar in Noryangjin, Dongjak-gu, Seoul for 24 years, responding with apology comments to every harsh review on a delivery application (app).
Since then, the delivery app reviews, which were full of negative comments, have been filled with warm comments from customers who ordered to support the couple's business.
On the 27th, reviews on the delivery app for the snack bar included supportive comments such as, "There are people in the world who ask to remove cucumbers from cucumber cold noodles, but I eat kimchi pancake with kimchi firmly. The portions are really large and the size is huge," and "I ordered because the owner is famous for being kind and the food is delicious, and I ate well like homemade food after a long time."
As more customers tried to visit the store in person, reviews were also posted on portal site map apps. One customer who visited the elderly couple's snack bar wrote in a review, "There were many customers in the hall, so there was a long wait, but it was worth the wait. The portions are large and it's awesome. There are also flower wreaths in front of the store. Amazing."
Another customer said, "It was the taste of my hometown. I always wish you good health. I will visit again."
The elderly couple's snack bar became a hot topic after a post titled "Feeling heartbroken when seeing the owner looks elderly in Baemin reviews" was uploaded on an online community.
The original poster captured reviews of a restaurant with many harsh comments on the delivery app "Baedal Minjok" (Baemin) and wrote, "It is said that the elderly couple runs it."
In a recent review, a customer who ordered cucumber cold noodles left a 1-star rating saying, "I clearly asked to remove cucumbers, but they put them wherever possible. Please read the requests."
In response, the owner left a reply with many spelling mistakes, saying, "I'm so so sorry. I'm very sorry. I made a big mistake. I will be more careful from now on. I sincerely apologize."
After messages supporting the elderly couple flooded online communities, the couple said in an interview with a media outlet, "We have continued the business thinking of customers preparing for civil service exams as our own children," and added, "Although the excessive attention feels burdensome, we are very grateful because it helps us live. I hope everyone who eats our food gets completely healed from their ailments."
