Kim Gi-hyeon, leader of the People Power Party, held an on-site Supreme Council meeting in Gunsan, Jeonbuk, and said, "I will strive to be recognized as a 'Bolmae' (a person who becomes more attractive the more you see them) by the people of the Honam region."
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the Saemangeum Development Agency in Gunsan, Jeonbuk, Kim said, "I think I have visited the Honam region more than my own constituency," showing his efforts to court Honam. He added, "The designation of special disaster areas is still under review for some regions, but we will do our best to have as many areas designated as possible."
Kim emphasized, "The first on-site Supreme Council meeting held after the new leadership was elected was in Jeonju, Jeonbuk. Members of our party attended the May 18 event for two consecutive years, and this year, some members of the leadership went down a day earlier to participate in the eve ceremony, sharing a moment together."

He continued, "The fact that the People Power Party frequently visits Honam, takes care of it, and listens to the local public sentiment is an expression of our special affection and our determination to continue pouring that affection in the future," adding, "Above all, now that we are the ruling party, I believe that sincerity, various policies, budgets, and necessary personnel support are the most important factors to be recognized by the people of Honam."
Regarding the declaration of special disaster areas, Kim said, "Supporting the rapid recovery from flood damage goes without saying, and we will also take good care of compensation for damage recovery," adding, "The provincial party chairperson has mentioned this several times. Although the declaration of special disaster areas is being prioritized, some areas are still under review, and we will do our best to have as many areas designated as possible."
Kim also expressed his concern for the Honam region, which suffered damage from recent heavy rains. He mentioned that he visited Iksan, Jeonbuk, on the 25th to participate in flood recovery volunteer activities, saying, "When we planned it, we expected about 350 people to come, but more than 1,000 people showed up, and we struggled because the equipment we prepared was insufficient. Many party members participated in the volunteer work. I think this shows our party's sincere heart toward Honam."
He added, "Since the establishment of the Saemangeum Agency in 2013, there has been an investment attraction of 1.8 trillion won, but more than 80% of the 6.6 trillion won scale was achieved under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration," emphasizing, "This is due to the president's sales diplomacy and deregulation policies aimed at increasing investment, which made companies turn their attention to Saemangeum."
Regarding the World Scout Jamboree to be held in Saemangeum on the 1st of next month, Kim promised, "We will take good care to ensure that the Scout Jamboree becomes a major catalyst for the development of Jeonbuk."
