Capital Market Transactions in the First Half Total 3,281.3 Trillion KRW... 12.4% Increase Year-on-Year
Average Daily Processed Payment Increased by Approximately 1.1 Times Compared to the Same Period Last Year
In the first half of this year, the amount of capital market-related funds processed through the Korea Securities Depository increased compared to the same period last year.
According to the Depository on the 27th, the capital market-related funds in the first half amounted to 3,281.3 trillion won, a 12.4% increase compared to the same period last year. Capital market-related funds refer to the funds processed in connection with the Depository's operations in the capital market.
The average daily processed amount was 267 trillion won, about 1.1 times higher than 241 trillion won in the first half of last year.
Among the 3,075.1 trillion won in trading settlement funds, over-the-counter repurchase agreement (Repo) settlement funds accounted for the largest portion at 2,759.3 trillion won (89.7%). While bond institution settlement funds (-10.8%), stock institution settlement funds (-11.2%), and on-market stock settlement funds (-11.8%) decreased compared to the same period last year, over-the-counter Repo settlement funds (17.0%) and on-market bond settlement funds (4.7%) showed an increasing trend.

Registered securities principal and interest amounted to 1,086 trillion won, down 8.5% from the same period last year. This decline is due to the principal and interest of short-term bonds, which account for the largest share at 40.8%, decreasing by 28.9%.
