Establishing a Foothold for Central Asia K-Rail Expansion through Cooperation in the Railway Sector
The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 26th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kyrgyzstan Railways for railway cooperation between the two organizations, including the signal modernization project at Baliki Station (the terminal station of the northern line of Kyrgyzstan Railways).

View original imageThrough this MOU, the two organizations agreed to form and operate a working group for systematic railway cooperation and to share information, technology, and experience related to the Baliki Station signal modernization project, among other mutual collaborations.
Additionally, the Korea Rail Network Authority plans to conduct its own preliminary feasibility study in the second half of this year with the goal of securing this project.

Kim Han-young, President of the Korea Rail Network Authority, stated, "With the signing of this memorandum, we hope that exchanges and cooperation in railway projects between the two countries will continue to expand," and added, "Based on this cooperation, we will do our best to make K-Rail actively advance into Central Asian countries."
