Gyeonggi Office of Education Supports 'Meals and Dietary Life' for Small Private Kindergartens
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will support meal management, nutrition, and dietary education for small-scale private kindergartens.
On the 25th, the Office announced that, in accordance with the revision of the School Meals Act, it has established an integrated roadmap for the entire meal process, including ▲creating a policy foundation based on autonomy and responsibility ▲fostering a healthy and safe meal culture ▲strengthening future and sustainable capabilities ▲providing balanced and growth-tailored support.
To this end, the Office plans to develop and support various materials to promote proper eating habits by utilizing a character familiar to young children called 'Chomi (初米)'.
Additionally, to promote the autonomous growth of meal operations in small-scale private kindergartens, a 'Policy Advisory Group' will be formed and operated.
The Office has previously assigned itinerant nutrition teachers to small-scale private kindergartens in central education support offices in Seongnam, Yongin, Anyang-Gwacheon, Bucheon, Uijeongbu, and Goyang.
