An accident occurred at a kids' pool cafe in Incheon, operating with an unmanned system, where a 2-year-old girl drowned and died.
According to the Incheon Western Police Station on the 23rd, at around 11:37 a.m. the previous day, a report was received by 119 from the parents at a kids' pool cafe in Seo-gu, Incheon, stating "Our child fell into the water and was rescued but is unconscious." The fire department, responding to the report, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the 2-year-old girl, A, who was in cardiac arrest, and transported her to the hospital, but she ultimately passed away.

The cafe was operated with an unmanned system, so there were no safety personnel present at the scene at the time. However, other children were also playing in the pool with A, and adults were nearby.
The police requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of A's death and are analyzing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from inside the cafe. They also plan to investigate the legality of the kids' pool cafe's operating method and responsibility for the safety accident.
A police official stated, "We are investigating the overall situation, including under which laws this cafe operates and whether it is permissible not to assign safety personnel," adding, "We also plan to investigate safety management with the cafe officials."
