He made up for a bogey on the 12th hole (par 4) with a birdie on the 15th hole (par 5), lost a stroke on the 17th hole (par 3), but secured a birdie on the final 18th hole (par 5) to look forward to the next round. Lamprecht swept up 7 birdies (2 bogeys) to dominate the top of the leaderboard. He earned his spot in this tournament by winning last month’s British Amateur Championship. Leveraging his overwhelming physical attributes, he showcased long drives of up to 363 yards, averaging 325 yards. Lamprecht exclaimed, "I am proud of myself," and "I played well today." He is majoring in Business Administration at Georgia Tech.
