Gyeongnam Province Requests National Funding Support for Seven Projects Worth 78.4 Billion KRW
Governor Park Wansu: "Aerospace, Nuclear Power, and Defense Industry Are Korea's Future Growth Engines"
On the 20th, Park Wan-su, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, met with Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Choo Kyung-ho at the 2024 national budget briefing to request national budget support for Gyeongnam Province's key projects.
According to Gyeongnam Province, the briefing was arranged to request support for major national budget projects of the 8th elected Gyeongnam administration in line with the full-scale budget review period.

Governor Park said, "Strategic industries in Gyeongnam such as aerospace, nuclear power, and defense industry are future growth industries of the Republic of Korea," and added, "I ask for special attention and cooperation so that these can be reflected in next year's government budget proposal."
He also stated, "To foster the service industry, which has a great job creation effect, we must utilize the tourism resources of the southern coast," and urged, "Please actively support the proposed Southern Coast Tourism Special Act and tourism projects jointly promoted by local governments in the southern coastal region."
On that day, Gyeongnam Province requested support for seven key projects totaling 78.4 billion KRW.
These include ▲ Establishment of Sea Station (Bada Station) ▲ Construction of New Port Business Center ▲ Establishment of Space Environment Testing Facility ▲ Creation of Global Convergence Content Industry Town ▲ Development of Core Manufacturing Process Technology for Ultra-large High-temperature Isostatic Pressing Powder Metallurgy Technology (PM-HIP) ▲ Gyeongnam Innovation Academy ▲ Southern Region Wide-area Tourism Development.
