Ministry of Education Excludes 'Killer Questions' from CSAT EBS-Linked Items and Textbooks

The Ministry of Education announced that, in accordance with the government's policy to exclude 'killer questions' from the CSAT, it will also exclude killer question elements from EBS-linked questions and future EBS CSAT-linked textbooks.
On the 20th, the Ministry of Education released a statement saying, "The September mock exam and the College Scholastic Ability Test this year will maintain the 50% EBS linkage rate and indirect linkage method as announced in the 2024 CSAT implementation basic plan. If there are killer question elements in the EBS-linked questions, they will be excluded from the exam."
They also stated that killer question elements will be excluded from the EBS CSAT-linked textbooks to be published next year. The Ministry said, "We will closely cooperate with related organizations such as the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation and EBS to exclude killer question elements from the EBS CSAT-linked textbooks to be published next year and ensure alignment with the direction of a fair CSAT."

Earlier, on the 26th of last month, the Ministry of Education announced a policy to operate the 'Fair CSAT Evaluation Advisory Committee' to prevent killer questions from appearing on the CSAT through measures to reduce private education, and to establish the 'Fair CSAT Question Review Committee' to intensively review questions from the CSAT question-setting stage.
