Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement Opens Online Robot Technology Support 'Digital Platform'
The Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement (Director Son Woong-hee) has launched the ‘Advanced Robot Demonstration Support Digital Platform’ on its website and begun operating online technical support services in the robotics field.
The Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement, which has been providing services as a specialized KOLAS testing institution, KS certification body, and KC certification body for robots, has strengthened customer service accessibility through the establishment of this platform.
The ‘Advanced Robot Demonstration Support Digital Platform’ supports online application and reception, result confirmation, progress tracking, history and data management, as well as equipment utilization services in virtual spaces throughout the testing and certification service process.
Previously, services involved different reception and operation methods such as phone consultations, email/fax applications and reception, and postal delivery. As part of the institution’s Innovation Management 5.0 initiative, technical support tasks have now been digitally transformed.
An official from the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement stated, “The platform includes not only document application, reception, and result confirmation for robot testing but also programs for evaluating robot quality, making it very convenient for researchers and employees working at robot companies to use. There are about 2,500 robot companies operating nationwide.”
In the future, if the national robot test field project, currently undergoing preliminary feasibility study, is promoted, the service support scope will be expanded in connection with this digital platform.

Son Woong-hee, Director of the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement, said, “With the Advanced Robot Demonstration Support Digital Platform, we will enhance the convenience of testing, evaluation, and domestic and international certification so that the domestic robot industry can more easily secure global-level quality.”
