MFDS Announces Preliminary Designation of 24 New Substances Including 'Etagen' as Narcotics and Psychotropic Drugs
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 24th that it has issued a legislative notice for the amendment of the Enforcement Decree of the Narcotics Control Act, which includes newly designating 24 substances, including ‘Etazen’, as narcotics and psychotropic drugs.
The substances proposed for narcotics designation are four substances designated as narcotics at the 66th United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND): ‘Etazen’, ‘Etonitazepine’, ‘Protonitazen’, and ‘2-Methyl-AP-237’.
The substances proposed for psychotropic drug designation include four substances designated as psychotropic drugs by the United Nations: ‘Kumyl-Pegaclon’, ‘Clonazolam’, ‘Flubromazolam’, and ‘Flualprazolam’, as well as 16 substances such as ‘4-Fluoroethylphenidate’, which were confirmed by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety’s evaluation to have central nervous system effects and dependency potential.
