Korean Air Resumes Operations on Busan-Fukuoka and Nagoya Routes

Korean Air announced on the 19th that it will resume flights on routes from Busan to Japan starting at the end of September, marking the first time in 3 years and 6 months. Additionally, with the peak travel season in full swing, the airline is increasing its international flight capacity, having recovered up to 82% of pre-COVID-19 levels as of July.
From September 27, the airline will operate the Busan-Fukuoka route twice daily and the Busan-Nagoya route once daily. Boeing 737-900ER aircraft with 173 seats will be deployed. The first flight to Fukuoka departs Busan at 9:05 AM and arrives in Fukuoka at 10:05 AM. The return flight departs at 11:05 AM and arrives at noon. The second flight departs at 6:05 PM and arrives at 7:00 PM, with the return flight departing at 8:00 PM and arriving at 9:00 PM.
The Busan-Nagoya route departs Busan at 1:00 PM and arrives in Nagoya at 2:25 PM. The return flight departs at 3:25 PM and arrives in Busan at 5:05 PM.
Korean Air is also supporting the Busan Expo bid by selling seats through local Japanese channels.
Meanwhile, to respond to the increasing international passenger demand, the airline is expanding its international flight capacity. Since July, it has been increasing flights and resuming routes on both long-haul and medium- to short-haul routes. This month’s capacity is at 82% compared to pre-COVID-19 levels. For trans-Pacific routes, flights on the Incheon-Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco routes have been increased. For European routes, the frequency of flights on the Incheon-Frankfurt and Milan routes has been increased.
On the Japan routes, the Incheon-Sapporo route has increased from 7 flights per week to 11 flights per week since July. The Incheon-Bali route will increase from 9 to 11 flights per week by adding flights on Fridays and Saturdays from the end of July through the end of August.

Capacity on China routes is also being increased. The Incheon-Changsha route resumed operations at 5 flights per week starting July 19. The Incheon-Weihai route will resume 4 flights per week from September 27, and the Incheon-Wuhan route will resume 3 flights per week from September 24. The Incheon-Ulaanbaatar route frequency will increase from 7 flights per week to 8 flights per week in July and September, and to 10 flights per week in August.
