Taiwan to Allow Visits from Mainland Chinese Relatives under 'Small Three Links' Starting from the 20th
Starting from the 20th, Taiwanese media reported on the 18th that visits to Taiwan by Chinese nationals with relatives in Taiwan will resume.
The Kinmen County government in Taiwan announced that on the same day, Chutai-san, Chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council, stated that from the 20th, Chinese relatives holding a 'Relative Visit Entry Permit' will be allowed to visit Taiwan again through Xiaosantong (passenger transportation for trade, postal, and travel exchanges).
Since 1949, Taiwan has maintained the 'Three Noes Policy,' refusing trade, travel, and communication (postal) with China. In the 1990s, as cross-strait relations thawed, Xiaosantong between Kinmen Island and Fujian Province began in 2001. With expanded exchanges, this was followed by Dasantong, which fully opened air, sea, and postal routes.
