The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Begins Investigation into KBS Chairman's Alleged Misuse of Corporate Credit Card
KBS Union Whistleblows on Corruption Violating the Anti-Graft Act
On the 17th, the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission began an on-site investigation into allegations of 'improper use of corporate credit cards' by Nam Young-jin, chairman of KBS, raised by the KBS Labor Union. The commission is reported to conduct the related investigation over three days starting from that day.
Earlier, the KBS Labor Union, classified as conservative-leaning, announced on the 13th that it had filed a corruption whistleblower report with the commission, requesting an investigation into Nam's violation of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.
After analyzing Nam's corporate card usage records, the KBS Labor Union claimed that a total expenditure of 7.37 million won over 34 instances from November 2021 to May this year violated the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.

In a statement at the time, Chairman Nam stated that he only paid for meals as the chairperson at dinners or purchased dried persimmon gift sets to send to fellow directors and staff as gifts, and denied any improper use.
