'PGA icon' Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) rose to world No. 2.
On the 16th (local time), McIlroy earned 10.51 points in the men's golf official world rankings, pushing Jon Rahm (Spain) down to 3rd place and moving up one spot. He accumulated points by winning the Genesis Scottish Open (total prize money $9 million), a co-sanctioned event by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour (formerly European Tour), which concluded at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland. This is his second PGA Tour season win and 24th career victory, his first since The CJ Cup in October last year, marking a 9-month gap.

Byeonghun An, who tied for 3rd place at the Genesis Scottish Open, jumped 43 spots from 131st last week to 85th.
