Managing Residents' Health with ICT Technology... Busan Gijang-gun's Mobile Healthcare Project
Busan Gijang-gun is set to officially launch the resident-tailored health management program using information and communication technology (ICT), called the ‘Public Health Center Mobile Healthcare Project.’
This project is a service where a dedicated public health center team composed of doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and exercise specialists provides customized health management guidance based on residents’ health status and lifestyle habits through mobile devices, targeting residents or office workers who find it difficult to visit public health centers or hospitals due to busy weekday schedules.
Since June 12, the county conducted health screenings for participant selection over four weeks at the second-floor exercise clinic of Jeonggwan Public Health Branch and finalized 100 participants.
Residents participating in the project will receive remote health management services from public health center professionals for six months, based on health data recorded on activity trackers (smartwatches) and mobile apps.
Additionally, during mid-term and final checkups, participants will undergo tests for blood pressure, blood sugar, triglycerides, waist circumference, and HDL cholesterol. Every three months, they will reassess their health status and readjust their health management goals through face-to-face consultations with specialists in health, exercise, and nutrition.
