Gyeongnam Province Takes Steps to Minimize Impact of Health and Medical Workers' Union General Strike
On the 13th, Gyeongnam Province visited Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital, where concerns about medical service gaps arose due to the general strike by the Health and Medical Workers' Union.
The province announced that it inspected the medical preparation status at Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital, which has the largest bed capacity in the province, and held an on-site situation review meeting with the hospital.
A field situation inspection meeting is being held at Yangsan Busan National University Hospital in Gyeongnam in preparation for the general strike of the Health and Medical Workers' Union.

According to the province, Lee Do-wan, Director of Welfare and Health Bureau of Gyeongnam Province, Ahn Gap-sook, Director of Yangsan City Health Center, and Lee Sang-don, Director of Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital, attended the meeting.
They discussed measures to minimize medical service gaps in the event that nurses, physical therapists, laboratory staff, and kitchen staff participate in the strike.

The province urged the hospital director to ensure the stable maintenance of essential hospital operations such as the emergency room, intensive care unit, and operating room, and to comply with labor relations laws and medical laws.

Director Lee of the Welfare and Health Bureau said, "Since the 11th, we have been operating a 24-hour emergency medical response situation room to minimize medical confusion caused by the strike," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that residents do not experience inconvenience in accessing medical services by checking medical institutions experiencing treatment disruptions."
