On the 11th, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning fell across various parts of the Gyeongnam region, and firefighters worked overnight to restore damage caused by the heavy rain.
According to Gyeongnam Province and the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters on the 12th, a total of 15 cases of damage related to the heavy rain were reported from 1 PM the previous day to 8 AM on the 12th.
By region, 4 cases were reported in Sancheong, 2 in Hapcheon, 4 in Changnyeong, 1 in Haman, 2 in Sacheon, 1 in Miryang, and 1 in Tongyeong, with no casualties.

View original imageOn the afternoon of the 11th, trees fell and covered roads in Saengcho-myeon, Sancheong-gun, and Cheongdeok-myeon and Jeokjung-myeon, Hapcheon-gun, and on the morning of the 12th, emergency restoration work was carried out due to landslides near the road in Nampo-dong, Miryang-si, and rainwater backflow in a manhole in front of the Mujeon-dong Community Center in Tongyeong-si.
According to the Changwon Meteorological Office, heavy rain warnings are currently in effect for Namhae, Tongyeong, and Geoje, and heavy rain advisories are in effect for Changwon, Gimhae, Hadong, Sacheon, and Goseong.
Namhae-gun recorded the highest average rainfall at 130.7 mm, with Hadong and Goseong also experiencing average rainfall exceeding 70 mm.
Gyeongnam Province upgraded its emergency response from Level 1 to Level 2 starting at 6:50 AM on the 12th and plans to maintain 24-hour emergency duty until the heavy rain advisory is lifted.

To prevent casualties from the heavy rain, measures include controlling six riverside parking lots in Hapcheon-gun, preemptive actions in Changnyeong-gun and areas prone to landslides, and managing vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled for evacuation.
