View original image‘Deullaknallak’ is an educational, cultural, and experiential space located within a 15-minute living radius near homes, where children and parents can enjoy together anytime. The goal is to establish 200 such locations by 2026.
Among these, at 11 completed Deullaknallak sites, play-based and experiential native English classes will be held from July through the end of the year for children aged 3 to 5 (previously 5 to 7), including special lessons for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Through face-to-face classes with native teachers from six English-speaking countries, children are expected to experience English-speaking cultures and naturally develop interest and enjoyment in English by making things, singing, running, and playing games.
The six countries of the native teachers are the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
The classes are operated by a selected English education specialist institution, and native instructors conduct the lessons entirely in English.
Children learn through familiar themes such as ‘My Body,’ ‘My Home,’ and ‘My Family,’ which are easy for them to grasp, and family participation classes with moms and dads are also offered, contributing to the cultivation of a healthy family culture.
Applications to participate in the English education program can be made through the respective Deullaknallak website and on-site registration, and all class participation fees are completely free.
For detailed information such as the schedule of English education programs by facility and how to apply for program participation, please refer to the respective website.
The city plans to expand the operation of English education programs gradually to other completed Deullaknallak locations after conducting a satisfaction survey of class participants and analyzing project outcomes following the pilot operation of 11 sites by the end of this year.
A citizen, Mr. A, who participated in the ‘Yeonje-gu Aisarangtteul Deullaknallak’ class with his child, welcomed the opportunity for native English education close to home and expressed hope that such high-quality children’s English education would continue to expand.
