Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Kim Hae-cheol) responded to a ship fire at sea and extinguished the fire.

According to Mokpo Maritime Police, at around 10:14 a.m. on the 11th, smoke was spotted coming from vessel A (118 tons, 7 crew members) near Sihado, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, by a patrol ship on sea patrol, which quickly approached the distressed vessel.
The maritime police took initial action, and available forces including the patrol ship and the West Sea Marine Special Rescue Team arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire.
Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the maritime police conducted safety management around the accident site and nearby ports and harbors to prevent secondary accidents.
