BPA Supports Customized Safety Prevention Supplies for Workers at Small Construction Sites
Busan Port Authority (BPA) recently conducted inspections of small-scale port maintenance construction sites and provided safety prevention supplies to prevent worker safety accidents caused by abnormal weather conditions such as summer heatwaves.
Currently, under the Industrial Safety and Health Act, key requirements such as the placement of safety managers and the preparation of safety and health registers apply only to construction projects with a total cost of 5 billion KRW or more, leaving small-scale sites without mandatory safety manager placement in a safety blind spot.
Moreover, it has been found that the risk of safety accidents is higher at smaller construction sites, with many accidents caused by individual carelessness, making it urgent to analyze and identify risk factors at construction sites from the perspective of construction workers.

These supplies will be used to check workers' health status before work at each site, excluding workers with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.03% or higher and those at risk of high blood pressure on the day from work and sending them home, thereby detecting unstable conditions in workers in advance and preventing accidents.
