Gwangju Bank Hosts 'Gwangjuhwaru Contest' Korean Painting Competition
Gwangju Bank is hosting the '7th Gwangju Hwaro Contest.'
Gwangju Bank announced on the 11th that it will accept portfolio submissions through the Gwangju Hwaro website from the 12th to the 19th.
The final winners will be selected at the end of October after the first round of portfolio screening, the second round of artwork evaluation, and the third round of in-depth interviews.
One grand prize winner will receive 30 million KRW, one excellence award winner 20 million KRW, three merit award winners 10 million KRW each, and five honorable mentions 2 million KRW each.
In November, the 'Gwangju Hwaro 10 Artists Exhibition' will be held at the Gwangju Bank Art Hall, where 20 new works by the award-winning artists will also be unveiled.
Gwangju Hwaro is a contest where artists with diverse content and forms gather in one place, ranging from works that show a deep interpretation of traditional painting to experimental works attempting new transformations, allowing a reflection on the contemporaneity of modern Korean painting.
