Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Investigates Lee Hae-chan Over Allegations on Yangpyeong Expressway
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is investigating former Democratic Party leader Lee Hae-chan, who was accused of claiming that the route change of the Seoul-Yangpyeong Expressway was intended to give preferential treatment to First Lady Kim Keon-hee's family.
On the 11th, the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency received the case against former leader Lee, who was reported for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, from the Yeongdeungpo Police Station on the 7th and is currently reviewing it.
The People Power Party filed a complaint with the police on the 6th, arguing that Lee's claim at a party member event held in Jeonju, Jeonbuk, on the 16th of last month?that "President Yoon changed the Seoul-Yangpyeong expressway route to a place where his in-laws had engaged in land speculation, enabling them to gain unfair profits"?was spreading false information.
The People Power Party also claimed that the statement was broadcast on multiple YouTube channels.
