Woo Sang-ho "Lee Jae-myung-Lee Nak-yeon Meeting, Nothing Special Expected"
Former Democratic Party leaders Lee Nak-yeon, who returned after a year of studying in the United States, and Lee Jae-myung have agreed to hold a private dinner meeting on the 11th. Meanwhile, Democratic Party lawmaker Woo Sang-ho said, "There will be no special content at the meeting," emphasizing that the purpose is mainly to promote party unity.
On the 11th, Woo said on KBS's "Choi Kyung-young's Strong Current Affairs," "This is not a serious meeting discussing any grave agenda. Therefore, I see it as a meeting that greatly helps the party's unity."
Former leader Lee returned at the end of last month, paid respects at the graves of former Presidents Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun, and met with former President Moon Jae-in, but this will be his first meeting with Lee Jae-myung.
Woo said, "Usually, in such cases, they exchange customary pleasantries. So, there will be questions about life abroad, health inquiries, and former leader Lee will talk about the hardships of Lee Jae-myung serving as the party leader. They will have general conversations and light political discussions about how the party should move forward."
When asked whether the meeting's outcome would affect the Innovation Committee, Woo responded, "That (the meeting) is not something that would influence the Innovation Committee. Since it is a customary meeting, I think the media is overinterpreting the relationship between the two. It is simply a natural meeting of senior party figures, and although some of their conversation may leak later, there will be no special content."
He added, "Until next year's general election, former leader Lee and Lee Jae-myung are destined to cooperate," and "joining forces for victory in the general election is the basic attitude that Democratic Party leadership should have. So, while they may compete in the presidential election, there is no reason for them to compete in the general election."

Regarding former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae's comment on their meeting, saying, "If directions differ, even holding a blank sheet together will tear it," Woo said, "That is a childish expression attacking former President Moon and implying that former leader Lee and Lee Jae-myung will tear a blank sheet together." He added, "She has been using excessive expressions lately, which I think are inappropriate."
