Damyang-gun Increases Combat Allowance and Veterans Honor Allowance
On the 6th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will raise the monthly Combat Honor Allowance and Veterans Honor Allowance to 100,000 KRW starting in July to strengthen the respect for national veterans.
With this measure, the Combat Honor Allowance will increase from 80,000 KRW per month to 100,000 KRW per month, and the Veterans Honor Allowance will increase from 40,000 KRW per month to 100,000 KRW per month.
The recipients are veterans aged 65 or older residing in Damyang-gun, war-wounded soldiers and their families, service-disabled soldiers and their families, families of war casualties, families of soldiers who died in the line of duty, recipients of military merit, recipients of national merit, special mission wounded soldiers and contributors.
To apply for the allowance, national veterans (or their families) must bring their certificate of national veteran (or family) status and a copy of their bankbook to the township office of their registered address. Existing recipients of the allowance will receive the increased amount without a separate application.
